Before co-founding Hawley Martin, Steve was a principal and Senior Vice President of what ADWEEK then dubbed, “The hottest agency in the United States,” The Martin Agency. His passion is to give that winning feeling to clients, whether they represent service, B2B, consumer products, or not-for-profit entities. Among the many have been BB&T, Virginia Tourism, Colonial Williamsburg, Mobil Oil, Eskimo Pie, Alcoa, two divisions of General Motors, a number of Nestlé brands, the American Forest Institute, and Dominion Virginia Power. He is the award-winning author of four novels and a number of business management titles, including two books on corporate leadership, and two more on marketing communications. He is the co-author with Bruce Goldman of BRAND ADVERTISING.

Mia Compomizzi

Mia develops media strategy and places TV and radio time. Mia began her career in media planning and buying with Comcast cable television where she learned the ins and outs of what works and what doesn’t, as well as what the true price of commercial TV time should be. With this knowledge she was able to double the TV exposure enjoyed by our client, the Richmond Raiders Professional Indoor Football Team, in 2012 versus 2011, and she did so without increasing the team’s budget for TV.

Jim has worked for more than ten years conducting brand research and developing strategies for a variety of clients. He is a graduate of the Jepson Leadership School of the University of Richmond. In addition, he is an adjunct professor of advertising, entrepreneurship, and business planning at the University of Richmond. He has taught similar courses during summer sessions at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville.
